Sligo Field Club present their 13th Annual Conference on 9th and 10th November 2024. This year’s theme is: Archaeology & Mythology.
This topic is a noteworthy subject that has interested scholars for centuries. The Irish landscape is imbued with mythological stories and these intertwine with archaeology both above surface and below. The line up of speakers will include: Prof. Muiris O’Suileabhainn (Keynote), Michael Gibbons, Donna Gilligan, Dr. Catherine Swift, Padraig Meehan, Dr Tiziana Soverino and more to be announced….
The conference is set to begin at 9:30am, with a full day programme on Saturday 9th November (light lunch included). On Sunday 10th we will be exploring sites including; Cairns Hill east Passage Tomb, Tobernault Holy Well and other sites of interest with Sam Moore (Lecturer in Archaeology at ATU) – weather permitting. You won’t want to miss this exciting conference!
