Guided walk led by Leo Leydon.

Leo Leydon is a member of Sligo Field Club and a local farmer with an interest in archaeology and history. He will lead an outing to the fossil beach at Ballyconnell. Here layers of limestone, which contain the fossilized remains of marine animals from 300 million years ago are easily accessed and the fossils are in abundance.  Also pointed out on the tour will be shellfish which can drill holes into rocks to create safe homes for themselves.

The outing will be on a rocky sea-shore and children will need to be under supervision of parents or guardians. Suitable footwear and clothing is advised as it can be windy in this location.
